Jean Shafiroff Hosts Cocktails for Endless Summer: Palm Beach Resort Wear
Palm Beach and Southampton residents Martin & Jean Shafiroff, along with the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and Oscar de la Renta held a private cocktail event in Manhattan to celebrate the upcoming grand exhibition, Endless Summer: Palm Beach Resort Wear, presented in partnership with The Palm Beaches and opening November 9 at the Richard and Pat Johnson History Museum in West Palm Beach (300 N. Dixie Highway), owned by the Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
The luxury brand’s support of the exhibit also highlights an ongoing collaboration to preserve and share fashion history in Palm Beach.
Oscar de la Renta Chief Executive Officer Alex Bolen said, “We are thrilled to partner with the Historical Society of Palm Beach County to celebrate Palm Beach’s unique place in fashion history with the Endless Summer: Palm Beach Resort Wear exhibition. Further, we appreciate the generosity and hospitality of our dear friends Jean and Martin Shafiroff in celebrating this exciting launch in Palm Beach.”
The more than 140 guests who attended the New York celebration enjoyed a special fashion presentation of Oscar de la Renta’s brand-new styles, and a private dinner followed the event.
Shafiroff, a long-time devotee of Oscar de la Renta, wore one of their gowns from the Spring 2024 collection. “The work of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County is important to all of us. As our identity, art and culture must be preserved for future generations,” she said.
New York State Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright presented a citation to both Jean Shafiroff and Jeremy Johnson, president and CEO of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, honoring the nonprofit “for its dedicated mission to preserve, collect, and bring the rich history and cultural heritage of Palm Beach County to life.”
Johnson expressed his gratitude to the Shafiroffs and to Oscar de la Renta in Palm Beach and Manhattan. “It is exciting to meet others that not only appreciate our mission, but also join us in moving it forward,” he said.
Guests at the event expressed their excitement to see even more Oscar de la Renta with their generous display of both recent and archive styles at Endless Summer, which will open with an invitation-only reception on November 8 and remain on view through May 2024.
Along with the Shafiroffs, Johnson, Bolen and Seawright, notable attendees included Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer, Julia Haart, His Royal Highness Prince Mario Max of Austria, Eliza Reed Bolen, Cameron Silver, Jackie Weld Drake, Alex Hamer, Jeffrey Alderton, Lizzi Bickford, Katherine Boulud, Camilla Webster, Courtney Schlesinger, Paul Labrecque, Collin Adams, Taylor Materio, Marilyn Kirschner, Lee Fryd, Fernanda Garcia, Pamela O’Connor, and Maria and Ken Fishel.
