Cox Science Center Hosts Inaugural Black-Tie Masquerade Ball
Guests went batty at The Colony Hotel for the inaugural Black-Tie Masquerade Ball in support of STEM Education. Hosted by the Cox Science Center and Aquarium (CSCA), attendees dined on delectable bites and sinfully sweet treats during an enchanted evening. Attendees donned their finest attire and captivating masks in benefit of CSCA’s mission to “open every mind to science.”
During the cocktail hour, the “Phantom of The Colony” made a surprise appearance which exemplified the air of mystery in the room. As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed dance and entertainment, as well as cocktail concoctions called “Liquid Nitrogen Frosé” accompanied by ghoulish grub and capped off with “Liquid Nitrogen Espresso Martini Ice Cream.”
The event host committee included Katie Benjamin, Lulu Carter, Emily Coscia, Alexandra Daniel, Allegra Garcia-Velez, Meredith Gregory, Judy Van der Grift, Heydyn Hernandez, Maddie Loeffler, Serena Mattson, Rosie Quick, Mimi Ryan. The group is part of the newly formed Cox Science Center and Aquarium’s Junior Committee, an engaged group of young individuals who share a deep appreciation of the science community, education and an interest in advancing the mission and visibility of the Science Center.
