Under the Palms: Ryan Serhant Opens Delray Outpost, Tiger Woods' Golf League & More Celebrity News
Philanthropist/author Jean Shafiroff held a private cocktail event in New York City to celebrate the grand exhibition Endless Summer: Palm Beach Festival Resort Wear, presented in partnership with the Palm Beaches, which opened November 9 at the Historical Society of Palm Beach County’s Richard & Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum in West Palm Beach.
The luxury brand’s support of the exhibit also celebrates an ongoing collaboration to preserve and share fashion history in Palm Beach. More than 100 guests attended the New York celebration, hosted by Jupiter residents Jean and Martin Shafiroff, the HSPBC and Oscar de la Renta, and enjoyed a special fashion presentation of Oscar de la Renta’s brand-new styles.
A private dinner, hosted by Sciame Construction, followed the event. Shafiroff, a longtime devotee of Oscar de la Renta, wore one of the brand’s gowns. She said, “The work of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County is important to all of us, as our identity, art and culture must be preserved for future generations.”
New York State Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright presented a citation to Jeremy Johnson, president and CEO of the historical society and to Shafiroff for her extensive philanthropic work.
The Hope for Depression Research Foundation hosted their second annual Next Generation Youth Symposium, titled “Resilience in Children” on September 27 at the Palm Beach Day Academy. The symposium started with opening remarks by Palm Beach resident and HDRF Advisory Council Member Scott Snyder.
HDRF Executive Director Louisa Benton moderated the discussion, which featured top experts in psychiatry, brain research and social work. Each panelist gave vital insights into how parents, teachers and professionals can support young people to promote help for mental health. Panelists included Dr. Kafui Dzirasa, Dr. Marianne Chai, Dr. Jean Twenge, Mike Giresi, and Camilla Knoke and Isabella Tibbs from the Active Minds Chapter at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

There is a new white dome at Palm Beach State College’s athletic field. According to The Palm Beach Post, the dome is the main piece of Rory McIlroy’s and Tiger Woods’ new TGL, a new golf league presented by SoFi that fuses advanced tech and live action with teams of PGA TOUR stars. The league is scheduled to begin play in January.
The air-supported dome went up on October 9. It is 75 feet high and will hold almost 2,000 people. In the league, pro golfers play both in-person and virtually in an enclosed arena. McIlroy says the idea of the project is to “bring golf into the 21st century.”
Meanwhile, Woods, who is a resident of Jupiter, and Justin Timberlake recently opened T-Squared Social, a state-of-the-art sports bar on 42nd Street in New York City.
Celebrity realtor Ryan Serhant, who starred on the Emmy-nominated Million Dollar Listing New York visited Palm Beach County in late September to promote a $49.9 million luxury estate in Delray Beach, reports The Palm Beach Post.
Serhant opened an outpost of his firm SERHANT. in Delray Beach last May with local realtor Christian Prakas as the managing broker.
The seven-bedroom, 15-bathroom oceanfront home was last sold in February for $22 million. Prakas told the outlet that the unique home has air-conditioned parking for up to 20 vehicles, 150 feet of ocean frontage and a 4,000-square-foot guest house.
Palm Beach Symphony has received two Emmy Award nominations in its Suncoast region for its South Florida PBS broadcast of Eudora’s Fable: The Shoe Bird, the symphony announced on October 11.
According to Yahoo Entertainment, Music Director Gerard Schwarz, a multi-Emmy Award winner who led the symphony in the televised concert, received a nomination in the category of Director, Long Form Content. The outlet reported that Music Producer Carlos Lopez, a Grammy Award winner and three-time Latin Grammy Award recipient, was nominated in the Audio category.
The 47th annual Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards will be held on December 2 in Hollywood, Florida.

Pioneer Linens is hosting the special affair from noon–2 p.m. at their iconic store, where a generous 10% of sales will benefit the Center for Family Services of Palm Beach County. Pioneer Linens is a fourth-generation family-owned business that was founded in 1912. Marissa Murphy Adriaanse’s family has been the proud owner of the shop for more than 100 years, and she serves as one of the agency’s junior co-chairs of the Old Bags Luncheon. A festive party will showcase wine and tea along with valet parking. The purse drive supports the designer handbag silent auction held during the center’s signature fundraiser.
