Westhampton Beach honored the legacy of former Mayor Maria Moore by dedicating a park on Glover’s Lane in her name.
Stepping down from her role as mayor to take on the mantle of Southampton Town Supervisor, Moore’s tenure was commemorated as Glover’s Park was officially renamed Maria Z. Moore Community Park.
The renaming served as a tribute to Moore’s impact, as she had spearheaded the park’s construction during her time in office.
The dedication coincided with Arbor Day festivities, during which the WHB High School’s Cure Club planted a tree selected with Moore in mind, symbolizing growth, resilience and community spirit.
