Campaign Seeks to Support Veterans at New Fisher House West Palm Beach

Friends of Fisher House (FOFH), an organization that supports local veterans, is calling on Palm Beach County to join their Build It for the Brave Capital Campaign, raising $5 million to fund the construction of a fully accessible Fisher House on the West Palm Beach Veterans Administration (VA) campus. This essential project will double the number of guest suites from 8 to 16, providing 5,840 nights of complimentary lodging annually for veterans and their families receiving medical care.
Beyond just accommodations, Fisher Houses provide the comforts of home, including meals, community and peace of mind — helping families save an estimated $1.6 million annually in travel and lodging costs.
“Our veterans and their families deserve the very best,” said Admiral Thomas Lynch, Honorary Chairman of the campaign. “This new Fisher House will provide a fully accessible, state-of-the-art home away from home for those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
The campaign was officially launched on November 16, 2024 at the prestigious 8th Annual Sculpture in Motion event, courtesy of capital campaign committee member Frances Fisher.
Since 1995, the current Fisher House has provided 17,993 families with lodging, 59,160 nights of free accommodations and $24 million in savings to families in need.
Unfortunately, the current facility lacks an elevator and full accessibility, which is challenging for families of veterans with mobility limitations. The new facility will address these needs, making it one of the finest Fisher Houses in the nation.
FOFH is inviting the community to get involved by donating (Text “BUILDIT” to 50155 or visit fofhwpb.org/build-it-for-the-brave to give), volunteering and building awareness by sharing the campaign and spreading the word with friends, family and colleagues.
The Build It for the Brave campaign is working toward groundbreaking in October2025, with an anticipated completion date in October 2026.
