Urban Plaster Restoration

When water damage destroyed our 1753 brownstone’s back-parlor ceiling — including the original center medallion — our contractor said we’d need a decorative plaster restoration expert to complete that repair job. We reached out to Jason, owner and master artisan at Urban Plaster in Brooklyn, because we’d seen work he’d done for friends some years before. It was the right choice. The new medallion is an exact replica of its predecessor, but with all the details restored to archival perfection. Incredibly, Jason cast a silicone mold on-site from salvaged pieces he sculpted together to match the original. Jason and his team then secured and pinned the ceiling, three-coat plastered and patched it to match the new work. They finished with an amazing paint job. Jason was personable, accessible and fair with his estimate. His Urban Plaster team were quiet, clean, trustworthy and efficient at the worksite. They kept to the schedule, and they’re very nice guys. Most importantly, Jason kept his word on cost, quality and timing; something any homeowner who’s done extensive renovations will appreciate. My wife and I were very happy with the process as well as the result. I wish we’d known about Jason and Urban Plaster when we first bought our Prospect Heights brownstone in 1996.
